The Seattle RV Show: A Recap
If you’re interested in RV’s—whether you own one, are thinking about buying one, or simply just curious—the Seattle RV Show is the perfect event. Learn about how the event went this year, and start planning your own RV adventure.
When I was younger, I journeyed across the West with my family in my uncle's travel trailer. At the time, I thought there was nothing cooler than traveling across the plains of South Dakota, through the Bad Lands, to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, and the Grand Teton National Park in what I called a miniature house on wheels, complete with a table that converted into a bed, a shower and bathroom combination, and a space above the truck cab that provided the perfect view of the open road.
This appreciation of caravans has lasted into my adulthood, and in February I eagerly awaited the Seattle RV Show at the Qwest Field Event Center. The Seattle RV Show, which lasted from February 10-13, celebrated its 48th anniversary this year.
At the Seattle RV Show, I had a chance to see hundreds of RV's, spending hours fascinated by all the different models. I didn't personally attend any of the Seattle RV Show's seminars, but the lineup this year featured seminars like "Top 10 Maintenance Tips Every RVer Should Know," "Optimizing the RV Battery System," "Spare Parts/Key Questions," and "Exterior Care of Your RV."
Unfortunately, I don't have the savings to buy my own RV—that dream will have to wait. However, if you're looking to purchase your own RV, then the Seattle RV Show is a great place to look at an incredible amount of choices, compare different models, and get a good price. At the Seattle RV Show, you can get deals on RV's and many dealers also offer coupons for services.
When the show ended at 5:00 pm on Sunday, the last day of the show, I drove back to my room at the Doubletree Arctic Club Hotel, located less than a mile away from the Qwest Field Event Center and a great place to stay for events. It was still early in the evening, so I walked over to Pike Place and met a friend for dinner.
For now, my odyssey across the West in an RV will remain one of my favorite childhood memories. But until I have the opportunity to travel that route in one again, I'll satisfy my love for RV's by going to the Seattle RV Show.
