Whether it's Starbucks or the Space Needle, everyone has an image when they think of Seattle. Learn about some of the top Seattle attractions, and decide which ones you want to visit.


1. Space Needle: Built in 1962 for the World's Fair, the 605 foot tall Seattle Space needle is hands down the most recognizable of all of the Seattle attractions. The wait and price for the elevator to the observation deck of the Space Needle are well worth it considering there is a full restaurant and panoramic view of Seattle awaiting visitors at the top. From this deck, you will have a superb view and explanation of over 60 other Seattle attractions that you can scope out with some well-placed telescopes. The Space Needle is a great first stop because it's a fun and unique way to gain your bearings in this beautiful city.

2. Seattle Aquarium: The next Seattle attraction on your list after the Space Needle should be the Seattle Aquarium. With its "Window on Washington" exhibit, which showcases much of the sea life of the Washington coast, this aquarium is a great way to educate travelers on the Pacific Ocean ecosystem that is such a huge part of the life in Seattle.

3. Olympic Sculpture Park: The Olympic Sculpture Park, located on the waterfront in Belltown, is an amazing outdoor sculpture gallery. The park spans nine acres and is home to some larger than life, gorgeous pieces of fine art. This park is one of the top Seattle attractions and should not be missed by art aficionados.

4. Pioneer Square: As the founding point of Seattle in 1852, Pioneer Square is a neighborhood on the southwest corner of downtown home to art galleries, cafes, and bars. This neighborhood is rich in history and is home to both Quest and Safeco fields. So if you are in the mood for a good coffee or a sports game, head to one of the best Seattle Attractions.

5. Experience Music Project: Designed by world famous architect Frank Gehry the Experience Music Project sits at the bottom of the Space Needle and is a must-see for all music and music history lovers. This museum, which contains over 80,000 music related display items, is not only a gorgeous building in itself, but is a truly historic and cultural experience that cannot be missed.

6. Museum of Flight: Home to some of the world's most famous planes, the Seattle Museum of Flight is a truly special place to visit for anyone fascinated by the history of flight. Located in South Seattle, this museum contains a replica of the Wright brothers' 1903 Flyer, along with 20 other planes and displays. This is one of the most amazing Seattle attractions for those that can't wait for takeoff.

7. Snoqualmie Falls: At 286 feet tall, Snoqualmie Falls is one of the most popular and beautiful Seattle attractions in Washington. Located just inland of Puget Sound, this beautiful waterfall is open for free viewing and can be either a peaceful experience for the whole family, or a romantic getaway for a lucky couple.

8. Pike Place Market: As one of the west coast's first farmer's markets, Pikes Place Market is one of the most historical and fascinating Seattle attractions. Founded in 1907 and located at First Avenue and Pike Street, this nine-acre area is now home to amazing coffee shops, craftspeople, farmers, and musicians.

9. Woodland Park Zoo: Looking for a little savanna in the northwest? Venture to the Woodland Park Zoo located near North 50th St. and Freemont Avenue. This zoo is home to beautifully designed exhibits that are home to animals from ranging from giraffes to brown bears. This is a great place to take the kids or just relax with some wildlife.

10. Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour: To gain some added technical insight and to be wowed by the amazing innovations being made by one of the world's premiere flight engineering companies, cruise to the Future of Flight Aviation Tour. Located just north of Seattle, this is the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in the North America and will be sure to amaze anyone who visits. On account of its detailed displays and peepholes into the future, this tour has become one of the premiere Seattle attractions.
